“As most of you know, my husband and I decided to make a lifestyle change and began to eat healthy and exercise. No pills, shakes or patches were used… just healthy eating and exercise!! I will tell you, this wasn't easy (especially for me), actually at first it was extremely hard and very overwhelming but we stuck to it and have both worked very hard to get here. 

After 6 1/2 months this is were I am...I have lost a total of 50.5 pounds and a total of 29.5 inches overall!! I want to say a big thank you to my husband, Michael, for all his love and support through this, I know it wasn't easy!! “Some people have been concerned over my safety while I prepare and while I do the NB to PEI swim. Have no fear I am well covered. Dang I even have my very own pit crew! You've met my two fabulous swim coaches. Next up is my wonderful nutritionist. I found her while doing a google search. 


I've learned sooo much from her. About what to eat when. What helps with what and what doesn't. What to eat when you need a boost at work versus a boost of energy for swimming. Discovered lots of yummy recipes. I told her in our first meeting: ”sure I could loose a few inches around my waist.. but my goal is to swim to PEI”. She never once "forgot" what were my priorities. 


Slowly, gently pushing me towards the right directions. Meal plans were prepared and recipes sent. I've learned soo much about feeding my muscles to build up, endurance. "First of all I want to say that I love reading your blogs! Losing weight is such hard work... and finding motivation to do it can be really difficult, let alone when you have over 100lbs to vanish! (almost like you are attempting the impossible)... so I really like your message in this blog. I think it can be very tempting to start a "diet", especially when you have a big amount to lose.. (mostly because you feel so far gone already). But I never let myself go that route. And I am grateful for that decision because doing the WORK really helps me GROW. Every pound shed is one more goal earned on my "yay-me" scoreboard. It brings my mind space from self doubt to empowerment. For me, the weight is only one part of the battle. I need to heal my soul.
