Peppermint Chocolate Protein Balls
Your High-Protein Snack That Tastes Like a Holiday Treat.
I’m always experimenting with simple ways to boost the nutritional value of my snacks, especially during the holiday season, when life gets busier and I’m constantly on the go. And you all know how much I value staying fueled.
And because it is the holidays, I also wanted something festive, fun, and versatile… something I could enjoy myself but also serve to others. That’s how this recipe came to life.
Like most of my protein ball staples, this one starts with whey protein and natural peanut butter as the base. From there, the cocoa powder, peppermint extract, and crushed candy canes add the perfect holiday touch. They’re easy to make, easy to share, and perfect to have on hand for those spontaneous visits from friends and family (because let’s be honest… that always seems to happen in December).
What I love most about these is that they’re filling and nutritious while still giving you that cozy holiday flavour, without the sugar crash. The combination of protein, healthy fats, and a little natural sweetness keeps energy levels steady and helps you stay satisfied between meals. They’re freezer-friendly, travel well, and make the perfect grab-and-go option for busy days.
I personally use Pure Whey from Protein Co because of the quality and protein content, but feel free to use your favourite brand or swap for a vegan protein powder if that suits your needs better. Natural peanut butter is my go-to for healthy fats, but any creamy nut or seed butter works here too.
